This website has been created and is managed by Help the Hospices on behalf of independent local hospice charities around the UK.
Founded in 1984, Help the Hospices is the national charity for the hospice movement. We provide hospices with practical support in their vital work of caring for people who face the end of life, and for those who love them.
Around 250,000 people receive high quality individual care from hospices every year. However, as their support is also extended to loved ones – relatives, friends and colleagues – the lives of millions of people are touched by hospice care every year. Indeed it is estimated that one in three people in the UK have experienced the care of a loved one by a local hospice.

Help the Hospices has funded the national Light up a Life website as a resource to support local hospices in their events.
