What is Light up a Life?

Light up a Life is the name given to a series of very special community events that take place throughout the UK during November and December every year.

Organised by local hospices, Light up a Life events provide a special way to remember a loved one. They are open to everyone - not just people whose loved ones were cared for by a hospice.

“Lighting a candle to help hospices is such a simple thing, but it is also symbolic and means others who are facing the end of life will be helped.

I will be lighting a candle for my Mother and remembering a happy life with her and my father.”

"We'd always hoped that Jane would die at home but circumstances prevented it, that said I don't think she could have been in a better place than St Gemma's hospice, Leeds. We'll be remembering Jane and the last few days of her life with fondness."

“I am delighted to support hospices with their Light up a Life appeal this Christmas. I will be remembering and celebrating the life of my friend Andrew Moore this year and have lit a virtual candle in his memory."
